Interactive Destination Pages — Modern Travel Content Experience

A travel agency's destination pages were static text blocks that failed to inspire modern travelers. An interactive prototype was built with maps, animations, and 14 content sections that transform AI-generated content into an engaging visual experience.

Interactive Destination Pages — Modern Travel Content Experience

The Challenge

The travel agency’s destination pages were not working hard enough. Plain text blocks with a few scattered images did little to inspire travelers or differentiate the agency from competitors. Modern travelers expect rich, interactive experiences that help them visualize a destination before they book. The existing pages felt dated and failed to convey the excitement of travel.

There was also a practical gap. The agency had invested in AI-generated destination content through a separate content agent, but the output was being published in a basic text format that did not do justice to the quality of the information. The agency needed a frontend experience that could match the depth and quality of the content being produced.

The Solution

An interactive prototype was built demonstrating what a modern destination landing page could look like, featuring 14 distinct content sections designed to inform and inspire.

Visual storytelling. A large hero image with the destination name sets the tone, followed by an engaging introduction and a dedicated section highlighting the top reasons to visit.

Comprehensive information. Sections cover top destinations within the region, recommendations by traveler type (families, couples, adventure seekers), a seasonality calendar showing the best times to visit, a budget overview, and practical travel information.

Interactive elements. An embedded map with marked locations powered by Leaflet lets travelers explore geography. An FAQ section addresses common questions, a reviews section builds trust, and an interesting facts segment adds personality.

Conversion design. A newsletter signup form and clear call-to-action elements are integrated throughout the page to turn inspiration into bookings. The prototype is built on Next.js with static export for fast performance, React components for modularity, and Tailwind CSS for clean, responsive styling.

The Result

The prototype delivers a complete vision for the future of the agency’s travel content. Destination pages become immersive experiences that inspire travelers rather than simply listing facts. Structured content is presented in a format that is both informative and easy to digest on any device. Interactive elements like maps and seasonal calendars engage visitors and increase time on page. The component library created for the prototype is reusable across any destination, providing a scalable foundation for the agency’s entire content strategy.
